Special Podcast Ep. 1: Historical Trauma and Cultural Resilience

As part of our ongoing partnership with the Center for Innovation and Resources, Inc., RRC’s Co-Director, Taquelia Washington, was asked to participate in their 2021 Statewide Learning Series on historical trauma. In this first of two episodes, she is joined by Dr. Sayida Peprah to engage in conversation regarding the role that historical trauma and cultural resilience plays in the work service providers are doing with marginalized communities. They discuss the biochemical impacts of many types of trauma, the symptoms of racialized complex trauma, and utilizing ancestral legacy to cultivate resilience. We hope you benefit from today’s episode, and encourage you to look out for the second episode of this series that will be posted right here on RRC’s blog in September!

Thanks to RRC’s partner, Center for Innovation and Resources, Inc., for hosting this podcast series.
